By Mr Mark MacGregor Year 7 Level Leader

From the moment we arrived at Camp Manyang, excitement was sensed as students eagerly anticipated the adventures ahead. Over the course of the camp, Year 7 students embraced a range of thrilling activities, pushed their limits, and forged new friendships.

The giant swing was a highlight for many, with students overcoming their fears as they soared through the sky. The ropes course and tree top challenge tested balance and teamwork, while the crate climb encouraged determination and problem-solving. Beach activities provided a refreshing opportunity for students to enjoy games on the sand and in the water.

Bike riding took students on a scenic trail, giving them a chance to explore the beautiful surroundings. Leadership activities helped build confidence and teamwork skills, preparing students for future challenges. Archery proved to be a test of focus and precision, with many students surprising themselves with their accuracy.

Sea kayaking and snorkelling offered unforgettable experiences in the ocean. Students paddled through the waves and explored marine life up close, learning more about the unique coastal environment through the marine discovery session.

One of the most memorable moments of the camp was the disco night. Students hit the dance floor, showing off their impressive dance moves and celebrating a fantastic few days together. Laughter and music filled the room as friendships grew stronger.

Throughout the camp, students participated with enthusiasm, supported one another, and stepped out of their comfort zones. Staff on the camp were especially proud of the students and their behaviour. Their positive attitude to engage in all the camp activities and jobs was encouraging to see. It was a rewarding and unforgettable experience that created lasting memories for all.
