On Wednesday 8 June, the Year 10 Japanese class were fortunate to attend an excursion to the city and immerse ourselves in aspects of Japanese culture, particularly food. This was our first Japanese trip, as all our past excursions were cancelled due to the pandemic, making this day even more special. We were given the opportunity to visit Melbourne Central and Emporium and look at the major Japanese stores, such as MUJI and UNIQLO, as well as smaller stores and restaurants. The highlight of the excursion was definitely Dohtonburi restaurant, where we were able to make and cook our own delicious Okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancakes). Overall, the day was a fantastic experience, and a much-needed break from exam revision. A huge thank you to Mr Gibson-Suzuki for organising the excursion!
