On Monday 16 May, fourteen students from our school participated in an inter-school Chess tournament which was held at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar. Overall, ten schools and ninety students competed in this tournament, with each student playing seven games. Our students showed outstanding sportsmanship and performed admirably.

It was exciting to see that three of our students received bronze medals in their respective categories. Congratulations to: Oscar Nguyen, Ethan Tu and Jessica Jepson. Jessica also qualified for the State level championships (within the Northern Star Chess organisation).

Additionally, Oscar, Ethan and Joaquin Santos were awarded “Credit” certificates, with everyone else receiving a Participation certificate.
