By Mr Jamie Madigan Principal

This morning the Victorian Deputy Premier James Merlino announced a state-wide lockdown for Victoria from 11:59pm tonight, for the next seven days. This may have a significant impact on families.

The College Leadership Team met this afternoon to develop contingency plans in response to the announcement.

The following decisions have been made:

• Friday 28 May, will be a school closure day as staff will be preparing for remote learning which will begin on Monday 31 May. Timetabled classes will not be running tomorrow, and students may use this time to catch up and complete any tasks

• From Monday 31 May to Thursday June 4, homeroom will be conducted on MS Teams and classes will be conducted remotely, which may include a combination of Microsoft Teams and SEQTA coursework (this information will be communicated by the subject teacher)

• Students can access the Remote Learning Guidelines & Microsoft Teams instructions through the Student Portal on SEQTA

• Parents can access the Remote Learning Guidelines & Microsoft Teams instructions in the attachments by clicking on the links attached

• Attached also is the links to Supporting Student Wellbeing (Parent Guide) document and Supporting Student Wellbeing (Student Guide) document

• It is anticipated that all students will return onsite next Friday June 5. However further information and updates will be provided next week

It is recommended that students use tomorrow, Friday 28 May to catch up on work and begin preparing themselves for a move to remote learning. At this stage we are unable to predict what may happen in the short or long term, but we know that things can change very quickly. Therefore staff, families and students must be ready for whatever decision is made.

Essential workers and onsite learners

If parents meet the criteria of an essential worker, then they must complete the on-site supervision form, in the link below, by 5:00pm Friday 28 May.
