The Italy Cultural Immersion Tour is an opportunity for our students to explore Italian language and culture. Students will participate in a one-week homestay experience in Ancona whilst staying with an authentic Italian family. Students will then visit beautiful Italy exploring history, art, culture and religion. Students will visit Rome including a Papal Audience, Pompeii, Florence, Siena, Ancona and Venice. A truly spiritual and incredible experience for all students.
The Japan Cultural Immersion Tour is an opportunity for our students to experience Japanese culture and language through travelling, homestay and attending a school in Japan. Students will visit Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima to experience both traditional and contemporary sides of Japanese culture. Students will also learn the Japanese culture and language through doing a one-week homestay with a Japanese family. Attending a Japanese school will give students an opportunity to immerse themselves in everyday Japanese life.
The Kokoda Cultural Immersion Tour is an opportunity for our students to travel to Papua New Guinea to trek the Kokoda Trail. Students learn about the historical elements of the Kokoda Campaign, New Guinean culture, and most importantly, learn about themselves. A trip that is equal parts physically and mentally challenging, and incredibly rewarding. Students are chaperoned by College staff and Getaway trekking staff. A life defining experience.
The STEM with NASA Cultural Immersion Tour is an opportunity for our students to travel to Orlando USA to participate in a variety of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related activities. Students visit Kennedy Space Centre participating in the Astronaut Training Experience and Mars Base One Programs, as well as visiting iFly to experience the physics of freefall, Universal Studios and DisneyWorld, and complete ride analysis programs.
The Central Australia Cultural Immersion Tour is an opportunity for our students to experience the beauty of the outback and learn about ancient Aboriginal culture. Students also have the chance to engage with students who live in the red centre by spending a day at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College, Alice Springs. Highlights of the trip include visiting Uluru, Kata Juta, McDonalds Ranges, Kings Canyon, Earth Sanctuary and Santa Teresa Catholic Mission.
The Uganda Cultural Immersion Tour is currently a staff tour. Catholic Regional College Caroline Springs has started a relationship supporting the community of St Francis School, Kizinga in the district of Rakai, Southern Uganda. Our aim is to begin a 5-year partnership with the school that will see a classroom block, water supply, kitchen and food program established. We hope to continue to build on this relationship in the next few years by sending staff and students to visit these communities.
The Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) is a national gathering of Catholic young people. It’s purpose is to provide youth with opportunities to deepen their relationship with Jesus and encounter and celebrate the vitality of the Church in Australia through vocations, social action, liturgy and prayer, catholic music and catechesis. This is a biennial event.
Ignite Youth Conference is an opportunity for young people to deepen their faith journey and experience their faith and the Church in a dynamic way. Rallies, keynote speakers, music, prayer and workshops create an unforgettable experience for those who attend. The event is held annually in Brisbane.
The Tasmania trip is a wonderful opportunity for students to gain independence without travelling too far from home. Students partake in a variety of guided tours including Port Arthur Historic Site and ghost tour. Other highlights include Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, MONA, Mt Field National Park, Cataract Gorge and the Tahune Airwalk. A must for both new and experienced young travelers.
