Student Leadership Camp

Student Leadership camp takes place at the Torquay Surf Lifesaving Club and aims to cement leadership values amongst the Student Leaders. It is an opportunity for the Student Leaders to set into motion important student-oriented goals that will have a positive impact on the entire College. For three days Student Leaders experience a variety of activities. They immerse themselves in several leadership workshops, improve their teamwork skills, brainstorm areas for school improvement, as well as reflect on their own personal values. The Student Leaders also familiarise themselves with each other to forge sincere bonds of friendship which certainly strengthens the team. Whilst on camp, Student Leaders are also rewarded with a surfing lesson at Torquay beach and participate in exciting team building activities.

Year 7 Camp

Camp in Year 7 takes place at Camp Manyung in Mount Eliza on the Mornington Peninsula. The aim of camp in Year 7 is to develop a sense of community. Here, students spend time with fellow students and Year 7 teachers and building the connection and sense of belonging in our College Community.

Students engage in various group games and activities including a low ropes course, giant swing, flying fox, beach activities, kayaking and team challenge games. The camp is registered with the Australian Camping Association and is run by highly dedicated and qualified outdoor education leaders who are committed to mentoring young people through positive, responsible behaviour. This closely ties in with what we are trying to achieve with our Year 7s - a sense of community and belonging; an opportunity to grow and learn; resilience and empathy; and, most importantly, a sense of fun and joy.

Year 9 Camp

The Year 9 camp program is designed to allow students to meet their own personal challenge while providing a sense of adventure, independence and potentially the option to do something out of the ordinary. There are 6 different options available for students to choose with each providing a different challenge whether it be facing a fear of heights, living independently, learning to surf or simply spending time away from family and the comforts of home for a few days.
